Today was the big day. The run was difficult. I think I did ok for the first 8-9 miles but then my stomach started to cramp up. I made it though and the whole experience was incredible.
I can't believe how helpful and kind Bijan, Lauren and all of their friends were. I was the slowest runner in the group and David and Bijan waited at the finish line to high five me in the pouring rain. I also couldn't get rid of the impression that Bijan and Lauren both ran slower than their usual pace to not make me feel bad. That's just how they are.
I'm very thankful for them taking such good care of all of their guests, besides focusing on and enjoying their own run. I hope I get a chance to make it up to them one day.
