We had a nice and a slow Saturday today. Breakfast at Rock City, lunch at home and dinner at 3Crow - and in between a long walk, many good talks and each other's company.
Gary showed us a picture this morning that completely pulled the rug away under my feet. It feels like he is a little ghost sometimes in his pictures. You wouldn't think anyone would be able to take a picture so intimate without disturbing the subjects in his shots - but somehow he manages to make that work. I really admire that.
The picture today hit me with such force that I teared up and had to wrestle down my emotions. He managed to photograph the story of my life in one single image. I will have that picture in my heart forever, because it was in my heart before Gary took it.
Isn't that what photography is all about?
