Yesterday at breakfast Gary Briechle said hi, we talked about photography for a little while and discovered that we share a love for Leica and Tri-X. A short while after he had left he came back inside and asked if he could take my picture. I was super excited, even though I'm usually not very comfortable in front of the camera. He tried a couple of different angles, and then told me not to move because of the one shot wet plate process that he uses for his work. What an experience...

Today Gary gave me a framed print of the picture he took. It came out wonderful and I love it. I think making a portrait of someone is the greatest gift a photographer can give as an expression of their friendship.
