I looked at the first 15 pictures that I published for this project today and saw them as a whole for the first time. It struck me so much how I can find my own feelings in my photographs - always. Many of the pictures from the 365 carry disharmony in them or a strong dislike for a certain place.

I feel that I need to learn to find a way to approve of my own work if it's not aesthetically pleasing. I'm really struggling with that. It's so hard to shoot something disturbing or ugly when all you would like to see in the world is beauty. I know how immature this is artistically, but that's how I see.

I need to be able to cultivate discomfort a little more because that's going to be an essential skill going forward, especially for the Contrasts book that I am working on. I guess in that sense too the 365 will be a very good exercise.
