I just had a long talk with Rebecca and I told her how much I love her writing with her 365 and her ability to make every day whole in some way, somehow managing to tie the loose ends together. She is so incredibly talented.

My project doesn't feel whole for me on most days and I realized during our talk how much I was longing for discomfort and vulnerability. I gained a lot of confidence in my own work over the years, which is good, maybe sometimes overconfidence, which is anything but good. I needed to feel vulnerable again in order to grow and develop. I enjoy letting go of control and all the insecurities this brings.

On some days I hate what I publish and sometimes I love it and other people hate it. There are good days and bad days. But so many of the pictures here are an accurate reflection of my innermost feelings and they mean so much more to me than anything I've ever shot before. The longer I am doing this the more I realize how desperately I needed to question my own work and self-perception once in a while.

Sometimes understanding comes later.
