Gary, Rebecca and I talked about shooting film for the scanner vs. for the darkroom today. We had discussed a few problems I had run into with my prints and we came to the conclusion that it's not that easy to carry the exact look I like for my scans into a silver gelatin print.

I love my results when a print comes out, but I can already tell that I need to put a little more work in than usual. Gary expressed that he thinks it would be better to shoot with the final print in mind and not the digital process. I'm very stubborn about that though and I really don't want to lose the tonality of my negatives, so the classical darkroom rule "expose for the shadows and develop for the highlights" is not an option.

I have a few ideas about how to achieve both and need to see how this works out once I'm done testing.
