We got home at 1:30am yesterday night and slept in a little bit longer today. When we checked our P.O. box this morning there was a package from my Canadian friend Cody Priebe. He had asked me what kind of axe I'm using when we met in New York in September and laughed at my startled expression when I answered that I don't own an axe. He told me that he would send me one once we live in Maine.
I thought he was joking but he seriously did send me an axe as a literal house warming gift. That was so incredibly nice and thoughtful of him. Just yesterday Frances and Rich gave us a welcoming gift and a really kind card for my upcoming birthday. I feel very spoiled by so much kindness.
When we came home our firewood had arrived and I spent the rest of the afternoon carrying it into the basement.
