My friend Ray Larose and I met up for coffee in Portland today - and Rebecca met with her friend Greta. It was really great to see him again, outside of all the hustle and bustle of NYCWLK. It felt good to catch up, talk photography and cameras for an afternoon and walk around Portland for a bit.
Ray is really a great guy and I'm very excited for him about his new project Salt. He is starting an online magazine telling stories that are connected to the ocean - photo essays, documentary projects, recipes etc. It's such a cool concept and creative idea. I hope that he'll be able to turn it into a printed magazine at some point.
He generously gifted me a box of Portra 400 NC, one of my favorite film stocks, and I'm going to shoot a story for him on that film. I hope I'll come up with something that would fit well. It feels good to live so much closer to my friends in the US.
